Why does she do this?

Well ive liked this girl for a while now and weve been talking and stuff and i asked her if she was free this week, she said she had absoutely nothing going on this week so i asked her out. Then on the day we were gonna go out she said she couldnt because she had other plans. This made me think she didnt like me and so i kinda started putting off talking to her but she contiued to want to talk. What did it mean when she cancelled and does she like me now or what?
