Confused about first date? and where i stand now?

well i never have really dated recently( im an 18 boy) and well i knew this girl liked me so i invited her to the movies with like 7 other people. but she forgot her id so i invited her to go to a g-rated movie with me instead, so we went i held her hand during the movie and gave her a kiss on the cheek goodnight. and at like 1am she texted me saying im going to hate her forever or think shes retarted. so 30 mins later (i was sleeping atm) she said she had fun and was glad it worked out the way it did. and i replies with a simmilar thing. so weve been texting all day ( shes on vacation now) and i was wondering at what point are you dating? or in a relationship? and how can i further this? i sorta just need some advice. thanks!
