Friend having trouble connecting to multiplayer minecraft beta server?

Ive had this server up and running the 1.6.6 version of Minecraft for some time now, and weve built alot in the past week-2weeks or so but just recently she got a new computer and it downloading/getting all the games on it. Now when she trys to get on the server on the new computer it comes up with 'Failed to connect to server - Connection timed out' or somthing similar. When we tryed other server they worked fine and we both logged in, what do i need to do/she need to do?
