My dog doesnt seem to care that we got her a friend?

taking your dogs old friend from him was probably traumatizing in someway. he needed time to get over the fact that his old friend is gone. I would suggest to give it time. when my cat died i immediately got a new kitty and my other cat only became friends after a month or two. they need time to adjust because whatever happened (my cat died) (your dogs friend was taken away) it is sudden and they handle these things differently. the best thing to do is to give both of them equal amounts of attention and work with them it will take time. you can also do a doggy socialization class.
