Is there a way I can make my own translation program?

This'll be a lot of work, but mostly in the UI part and speech synthesizing. If you're going to learn a programming language for this, I'd recommend Python, a href="http://www.python.org" rel="nofollow"http://www.python.org/a . If I were to write something like this (without the speech synthesizing part, but perhaps playing mp3 files or something like that), it'd likely take me a couple of months.
