Do you agree that with the special election in NY; shows that Americans don't agree with the GOP?
Solar, yes, I agree. It's obvious when the Repubs lose a seat they've had for 40 years over a single issue, killing Medicare. And the article is correct. It always has blown me away how many c0ns here on Y!A violently oppose Medicare without even knowing its history and purpose. Also, I'd bet none of them are rich as rich people DO NOT hang out on Y!A. So if someone is 35 years old and has been paying into Medicare for 10 or 15 years, they seem to be OK with being told, "You're on your own with health care when you're 65." They are not thinking how much money they'd have to save just for medical insurance after they retire. Then have money for living expenses too? It ain't happening. But they're to busy following FOX news and lobbying for the rich -- who don't care about them -- to understand when they're 65+ and fumbling around trying to figure how they're going to get their meds, or pay for a hospital stay, while keeping up with rent, food, and electricity, then maybe they'll finally get it .... the rich won't be helping them!
