How do I convince my mom to let us get a dog?

Okay, so me and my brother really want a dog!! weve been wanting one forever. my dad wants one too. a few years ago he promised us that we would get a dog in the spring but never did. my mom is the one thats keeping us from getting a dog, she said that when everyone is at school and work it will destroy the house and no one will take care of it. i actually would take care of it i love dogs and all animals, i have been searching the local dog shelters and have found some really great dogs, that are already house broken. my birthday is next month, and I am willing to pay for the dog and his/her supplies myself with my own money. We have 4 cats, but cats are such a boring pet. I do love my cats but i do want a dog, we have a huge backyard, with plenty of places for him to run, and we could probably get a dog that won't bark alot, so how can I convince my mom to let us have one?? Please help!!!!

Our TV's subtitles randomly stopped working.. please help?

My mom's deaf, and she can't watch TV without subtitles. She'd really like to watch her shows, (as would I, I'm very used to the subtitles), but we can't without closed captioning. They've worked for years, but now on random shows, they turned off. CBS shows don't work anymore.. Please help!

it was halloween and i got high i told my girlfriend and got mad at me so i told her i would never do that again, so then christmas came around i got high but never told her february came around and got high again i never told her because i didnt want her to get mad and upset with me so a couple of days ago i came clean and told her about it (i lied to her about it for 6 months and weve been dating for 8) now we had a giant fight and now she doesnt trust me i love her to much to let her go but i dont know if im able to fix things i promised to her and myself i would never lie to her again but i know its not enough and she says she doesnt know how or if she can ever trust me again i want to be with her and i want to grow old with her shes my life shes my love and i dont know what i would do with out her but she needs to regain her trust back in me but i dont know how i can do that or how i can show her that she can trust me again other than not lieing showing her my love and telling her the truth at all times. please help :(
